Harry kneaded the pain throbbing in her skull as she settled against the wooden door leading up to the attic of some abandoned house. The darkness outside was thick with the presence of death and thankfully the house she had stumbled upon after her escape from her own house had a back up generator.
Harry looked at the dried blood on her hands before she scrubbed both hands hard against her jeans. It was her own blood, from the graze that was the present cause of her throbbing headache. Her escape from her home had been sloppy, after covering her sister's now double dead body she had crept upstairs and locked her self away only to fall into a restless sleep. She had been awoken by the sound of smashing glass then a thud. She didn't need to look to know that one of those creatures had found a way in. Jumping to her feet and snatching up the backpack and car keys she quickly threw the window open, holding back the gag as the smell of death washed over her and struggled to push the ladder out the window. She didn't even bother to check if she had everything she needed when she swung her legs over the window still and started to climb down the ladder. She landed with a soft thud on the grass that proved as a small alleyway of sorts between her uncles old home and that of their neighbors. Rushing towards the front of the house she duck her head out around the corner of the house and was sending thanks to who ever was watching over her even as she ran towards the battered old ford estate her uncle had left her. She fumbled with the keys even as the sounds of moans erupted from the house in front of her, she jammed the keys into the lock and twisted yanking the car door open and threw herself inside.
She had sped away from the house and had made it only a few house down when another one of the creatures stepped out in front of the car and on instinct she swerved to miss it and turned the car into the way of a tree. She had been driving too fast to prevent the crash. Her head had slammed hard against the steering wheel when the tree stopped the car and with a dizzy escape she managed to stumble out of the car. The flames where licking out of the car and heading for the tree, it took only a moan from behind her for Harry to rush as fast as her feet could take her towards the large white house. She slammed the door open and quickly slammed it shut throwing the bolt close. Taking a quick scan she found nothing else in the open plan living room apart from herself and a thin layer of dust on everything. She raced upstairs towards the attic, almost kicking herself when she remembered her backpack was still in the car.
She was still kicking herself after an hour of being locked up in the attic, she had been grateful enough to find a small first aid kit and a flashlight but she knew it would be pushing her luck to hope for anything else. She had left the light on in the attic in hopes that someone might see it and come to investigate. But deep down she had left it on in the hopes to ward off the fear she felt for the dark now.

As Cliff drove through a dark suburban street in Riseville after hitting several zombies on the way and cracking up the front windshield of the car he happened to coincedently noticed a light coming from the attic window of a house. He reversed back some until he was in front of the house.
He observed the window for several moment before hearing loud moaning coming from in front of the car.
He slowly glanced forward and noticed that while he was distracted by the light in the attic zombies had begun to slowly mob to his car.
He thought quickly if to take off and continue to the Downtown district or to stay and check out the house.
"Ergh!" he grunted jumping out of the car door and running up to the front door of the house.
He tried the handle and noticed it was locked. He turned seeing that some of the zombies were actually moving alot quicker than others and there were definately more zombies here than there were back near his apartments.
He paniced noticing that it would even be difficult to make it back to the car. The house was his only option. He bashed on the door as hard as he could. The moans growing louder as they crept over the lawn in front of the nice large white house.
"Open up if anyone's there! Let me the fuck in!!!" he shouted in between a pause of bashing on the door before resuming knocking harder.
"Open up hurry!" he shouted.

Harry almost broke her neck when she whipped around. She had gotten used to the moaning coming from the zombies but someone was shouting.... and from what she had seen zombies couldn't speak. Harry jumped to her feet and slid the lock back before yanking the door open, she pushed past the throbbing in her head as she jumped down the stairs. Harry managed to skid to a halt looking at the door, holding her breath she unbolted the front door and yanked it open hiding herself behind the door ready to slam it shut on any zombies waiting to get in.
"Get in" she ordered hoping she wasn't too late.

Cliff quickly dove through the door and thudded against the stairs as he quickly turned ready to pounce on whatever it was at the other end of the door before realising they weren't one of them. He had been a bit jumpy ever since the cab incident.
"Close the door quick!" he shouted pointing out the door at the zombies now climbing onto the front porch of the house.

Harry paused for a moment staring at the man laying on the floor before she understood he was shouting something. She heard the moans and understood he was shouting for the door to be closed, Harry pushed the door closed glimpsing the zombies climbing on to the porch and with an extra spurt of engery she pushed her shoulder into the wooden door and slammed it shut flumbing with the bolt. She jumped back when something heavy hit the door near her head, she moved backwards watching the door for a few moments as it rattled with each bang it received before she turned to the other survivor.
"Who are you?" she questioned edging away from the door.

He looked the girl up and down.
"My names Cliff. Who are you?" he asked still eyeing the girl curiously before noticing the blood on her and without waiting for her to answer-
"Were you bitten?" he snapped looking at the blood on her.

Harry stared down at Cliff, then she frowned at his questioned.
"No... no I wasn't bitten... I... I hit my head whilst trying to get here" Harry paused remembering the throbbing headache, she slumped down to sit against the old sofa and glanced at him. "I'm not one of them... I won't become one of them... my name is Harry Epps, I... I live down the street and I had to leave" Harry declared scrubbing at the blood. "How did you get here....those things are everywhere?" Harry questioned.

Cliff was at ease now learning she wasn't infected.
"I have a flat over in Boneland. I ran all the way to the hospital to get a car. I crashed the taxi.." he paused for a moment getting comfortable on the steps he was sitting on.
"I drove here. Parked the car outside. Had to check out the lights, I was going insane sitting around on my own. I thought there might be some survivors downtown until I came across you." he finished feeling perspirated and tired, not only from all the running but anxiety had begun to kick-in due to the stressful situation and Cliff's inability to take it all in at once.
It had all sneaked up on him and he wasn't ready for it.
'Serves me right for leaving the radio off.' he had thought to himself whilst he had been back at his flat.

Harry smiled wearily and shook her head easing back. "Think I'm the only one left around here.... most people took off and any who stayed, well you met most of them out side" Harry glanced back to the door then back to Cliff. She saw how tired he looked before she struggled to her "look we can't get comfortable, if you need to rest I suggest the attic... at least we can scoop out some how to get out of here... between the pair of us I think we may have attracted a house full of those zombies out there" Harry suggested glancing around her waiting for the zombies to find another way in.
"Besides I don't have any weapons... I left the only thing that could help back down the street at my house" Harry offered looking back at Cliff.

Cliff thought for a moment. He knew the guns sounded like a good idea back at her house but he really needed some rest.
The last thing he wanted was to become tired and surrounded by zombies.
"Harry.. I need to take a nap. If I go out there now I wont be able to make it 10 meters at the pace im goin. Im gonna take a nap in the attic." he said, slowly getting to his feet from the stairs as he glanced at the door whilst the undead outside thudded on the door.
"I suggest we barricade this door up before I take a nap. We need to keep them where we can see them. We should be ok here for now anyway." he finished looking at Harry.

Harry puffed out the breath she didn't know she was holding, before ducking her head. "No guns... just a metal bat back at my house... but we should look for some" Harry looked at the sofa then at the wooden bookcase beside the stairs. "I can move the book case to the stairs and block them off and I can use the sofa to block the front door...go gather some blankets and pillows from the bedrooms and I can take care of things down here. If you become exhuasted and drop your good as dead, the body will shut down" Harry told him before she went turned to the sofa and went to the end furthest from the front door. "I don't mean to sound bossy... I was training to become a doctor and it could installed into me from an early age" Harry offered with a small smile.

Cliff smiled at Harry.
"No problem. Its just good to find another survivor.." he paused for a moment.
"The names Cliff Barnes. Im hispanic, but the names American. I was adopted at birth." he finished as he trailed on up stairs to find blankets and pillows.
He headed up to the attic and lay down for a nap.
OOC: Good RP'in. Gotta go to bed its almost 1 and I got work at 9, ciao!

Cliff awoke in the attic of the house, at first he was slightly startled not knowing where he was but then remembered everything including Harry the only normal person he had seen in days.
He got up from out of all the blankets and pillows he had been lying down on the floor wrapped up inside, as if it were some sort of sleeping bag.
He looked about the attic wondering where Harry might be, the room was dusty and there were boxes filled with various family ornaments which had probably once brought back memorys, now were merely useless.
He began walking towards the attic stairs down to the top floor of the house, it seemed like a good time to start planning a move, he thought the Downtown district was still a good place to check for survivors in which he planned to propose the idea to Harry...

Harry managed to get the sofa wedged against the front door with a final puff of breath. The bangs against the door had lessen but the moans hadn't. Shuddering she turned away and headed towards the bookcase but glanced towards the kitchen, it was worth a look. Moving quickly she headed towards the kitchen glancing towards the windows making sure now ghostly face was watching her.
The small kitchen was just as dusty as the living room, a funny smell was eminating from the fridge that sat beside the gas cooker. The door to the basement was shut and a chair was wedged under the handle to prevent it from being opened.
Harry walked over to the door and wondered if it was to stop something getting in or out... shuddering at the thought of something down there just waiting to get out. Harry decided she didn't want to find out either way. A row of knives laid under a cabinet beside the large window looking out over the garden. She grabbed the butcher knife before picking up a smaller knife.
She hadn't had the chance to fully check the house out after she entered so she bent down in front of the sink and pulled open the cabinet door. Buckets and cleaning products stood there plus an extra flashlight and first aid kit. Holding the knives in one hand she grabbed the medium sized flashlight and tucked into her waist band before grabbing the first aid kit and standing back up. She would have to come back to get a better look, for now she had to get back up stairs in hopes of finding something more up there. She turned after checking out in the back yard, and noted the row of keys hanging below the light switch. There was two sets of car keys both which she hooked with her finger whilst still holding the knives.
She walked back out into the living room, checked the sofa before she made her way up stairs in search of Cliff.

Cliff climbed down the fold-up stairs to the second floor of the house from the attic.
As he made it to the second floor he noticed Harry just coming up the stairs probably wondering how he was doing.
"Harry." he said gently as she made it to the top of the stairs and noticed, turning around to face him.
"Im feeling alot better after that nap, thanks for keeping lookout." he said smiling slightly before remembering what he had wanted to ask her.
"Listen, I think we should find a way outta this house and get looking for other survivors downtown. A car would be a good idea, we can try running past all the zombies across the lawn to the car I came here in. If we tried making it downtown on foot we would be in big trouble, things are probably real crowded down there and besides. Im all 'outta ammo." he finished pulling the revolver from the back of his pants slowly and checking the chambers again in hopes that he was mistaken of his ammo crisis at the moment.
